MAINE TEAM U.S.A. MEMBERS MEDAL AT

 2010 WORLD GOODWILL GAMES

 

      Brent J. Crisci, director of the United Martial Arts Academies and coach/competitor for TEAM U.S.A. ‘2010’ , recently returned from the 2010 WORLD GOODWILL GAMES held in Cancun, Mexico. Crisci  was accompanied by Gardiner, Maine resident, Junior Blackbelt & TEAM KICKSUSA member Anastasia Pelletier, who also competed at the event.

      Master Crisci held qualifying trials for TEAM U.S.A. a tournament in the fall of  in 2009finding “the best of the best” to compete at the games. Pelletier passed her qualifiers and trained with Crisci and Renshi Keith Bisbee, a teacher in Gardiner, to give her best for the U.S..  Master Crisci was  inducted into the WORLD CONGRESS OF MARTIAL ARTS LIFETIME HALL OF FAME  at the opening ceremonies of  the World Games.  

      The 2010 World Goodwill Martial Arts Games held events over the course of two days. Beginning with grand opening ceremonies which included parades of the nations flags and a variety of countries team members showing off their national colors. The competition included divisions in Forms, Sparring, Weapons and Self Defense. They were further broken down by age and rank level. 

      During the evenings medals ceremonies, most of the hundreds of competitors, along with friends, families and fans gathered and eagerly awaited the final results. As the national anthems were played, countries representatives stood proudly. When the Medallist for Master Blackbelt Weapons & Forms were called, Brent Crisci stood up to take his place on the Olympic style podiums top spot to receive his World Championship Gold & Silver Medals. He gave credit to his instructors and supportive students for his victories. Anastasia took her turn on the podium when she received her Silver medal for the Female Junior Blackbelt Sparring Division & her Gold Medal For the Junior Female Black belt Forms Division.

               The TEAM U.S.A. medallists returned to parties and accolades from friends and family after enjoying of few days of R & R in Cancun, Mexico. They were featured in  issues of local newspapers and local television news and programs.. Crisci, will once again be speaking at local schools, telling youths of his accomplishments and travels and explaining how drugs and alcohol can stand in the way of such dreams. Crisci who is an advocate for DARE and FUMA, uses his sports marital arts accomplishments to help encourage students to give their schooling the best they can and not let anything stand in the way of their dreams, Gold Medal, Nobel Prize, or whatever those dreams may be. The 17th Annual KICKSUSA NATIONALS  will be held in Maine , Saturday May 15th and will act a qualifier for the 2011 Goodwill Games in be held in January 2011 in Panama.
